The Forum has been the house of the Los Angeles Lakers and where memorable concerts happened. It first opened in 1967 and has been recently refurbished after being bought by the Madison Square Group.
To celebrate the reopening, the round roof of the Forum here has been turned into a giant spinning record platter — its edge moving 17 miles per hour — to honor the Eagles. The Hotel California maxi-disc should be visible to people on the right sides of the nearly 1,600 daily flights that arrive during normal east-to-west landings at LAX.
